K.J. Hodge has been writing and editing works for nearly a decade. A native born-and-bred product of Washington, D.C., Hodge currently resides in the District and is obtaining her Master’s Degree in English and Creative Writing with a Concentration in Poetry.

Hodge has published two books, Atlas of Consciousness (2010) and Double Consciousness (2014) – the latter of which being named an Amazon #1 Bestseller. In between titles, she has been published in The Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives, a Canadian anthology entitled The Poetry of War and Peace (January 2012), won first place in Café de la Penseé’s Global Cultural Competition (February 2012), and was invited to perform throughout Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York at venues for open mics and talent shows throughout 2013 and 2014.

Writing Coaching
Six Sessions | one hour: $250

This service begins with a thorough review of the genre, target market, and specific topic. After tackling the outline, it progresses to a review of the developing work at all levels: paragraph, chapter, and complete manuscript. During the early phase of creating the manuscript, I review changes with the author and make initial updates directly in the manuscript. The author does a more thorough job of updating, but my frequent reviews are ongoing.

Quite often, authors have an idea, but find it difficult to produce complete content. I take your outline, combine it with extensive interview time, and produce a fully developed first draft manuscript. The first draft is then provided to you for review. This is a highly customized service for which cost and timeline must be calculated on an individual basis.

*$99 fee is applied to total costs if services are purchased.

Book Formatting | $150

This service provides cover design and formatting, interior design and formatting (including copyright page, acknowledgments page, and table of contents) and eBook conversion.

Query Letter Assistance | $99

This service provides one-on-one guidance and support for submitting query letters to literary agents and publishing companies. We even provide a list of 25 agents and houses that are specific to your genre.
